Grade band
Middle school: ratios, cells, and evidence paragraphs.
Grades 6–8 connect arithmetic to algebra and observation to explanation. Ratios, percents, and integer operations sit beside cells, weather, and a first lab notebook.
Literacy shifts from “what happened” to “what is the author’s claim, and where is the evidence?” Organization matters: a planner, a homework folder, and a nightly retrieve-practice-reflect loop from the study guides.
